One two-man tent, one man. Three days, two nights. Six directions. Three snakes: one red racer, one rattle, and one unidentified. Four mosquito bites, two tick bites, and a few spider bites. Half dozen wild turkeys a few feet away. One turkey vulture. One deer, a female deer. One fast lizard. A pair of California quail. One creek, forty crossings. Several litters of boiled, purified, iodized water. X mile hike. 1.6 lbs. weight loss. No shower. The greatest time of my life. |
