Have you ever looked at the night sky and found yourself in awe of the brilliance of the stars? Well, I have not, I live in a large city inwhich tall buildings block most of the horizon and street lights vail all but a few bright stars in the milky way. But in search of the night sky I recently found some beautiful pictures of far, far away, galaxies and nebulas at NASA. I really was not interested in the science but was looking for the art of the universe. In fact these pictures are inspirational to the artist, spirictual to the believer, ancient to the historian, and a lab to the scientist. I am neither a artist, nor a believer, nor a historians, and certainly not a scientist and yet I find pleasure in these pictures. The picture above almost looks like a flower, a rose in full bloom. Imagine a field, the universe, full of such galatic flowers! The nebula in this picture is called rosette kpno. I have no clue what the kpno means but rosette is a french word that literally means 'small rose'. If you are interested in viewing more pictures of our universe, then dirrect your browser to the NASA site.
